Access to Work (A2W)

Workplace mental health support funding — with TherapyFast

Access to Work is a UK Government scheme that can fund workplace support if a mental health condition, disability, or neurodivergent condition affects your ability to do your job. TherapyFast can support you in referencing our service clearly in your application.

Note: Access to Work decisions are made by DWP. We provide guidance and supporting information — you remain fully in control of your application.

Procurement and compliance readiness

  • TherapyFast has been assessed against government procurement standards.
  • Eligible to be procured by central government, local authorities, NHS bodies and DWP-funded schemes.
  • Recognised as suitable for publicly funded workplace support, including Access to Work.
  • Procurement and compliance checks have already been completed, reducing friction for A2W approvals.

This status allows TherapyFast to be confidently referenced within an Access to Work application as an approved and recognised support provider.

What TherapyFast offers under Access to Work

Through Access to Work funding, TherapyFast can provide:

  • Structured digital therapy sessions delivered via lifelike AI-guided avatars
  • Support for work-related stress, anxiety, burnout and emotional regulation
  • Confidential, flexible access (including outside standard working hours)
  • Progress tracking via TherapyFast’s Therapy Progress Index (TPI™)
  • No employer involvement in therapy content, supporting privacy and independence

TherapyFast may be approved as short-term or ongoing support depending on individual need and A2W assessment outcomes.

Who qualifies for Access to Work?

You may be eligible if you:

  • Are aged 16 or over
  • Live in England, Scotland or Wales
  • Are employed, self-employed or about to start work
  • Have a mental health condition, disability or neurodivergent condition that affects your ability to work

This can include anxiety, depression, work-related stress, burnout, PTSD and neurodivergent-related mental health needs. A formal diagnosis is not always required — Access to Work focuses on impact on work.

What support can A2W fund?

If approved, Access to Work may cover:

  • The cost of TherapyFast sessions or subscriptions
  • Mental health support that improves work performance and wellbeing
  • Adjustments that reduce sickness absence and burnout risk

Funding is provided by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), does not need to be repaid, and is usually paid directly to the support provider. Employers are not involved in therapy decisions and are typically only contacted to confirm employment where required.
